QUESTIONS

Is there a deadline?

The deadline for filing claims is four years after the end of the tax year.  For example, the deadline for filing a claim for 2020-21 is 5th April 2025.

How long will it take?

There is no set timeframe. Ultimately, it will depend on the HMRC.  Recent experience suggests claims are processed by HMRC in around 8 weeks. We will ensure HMRC are given all relevant information for the claim to speed up the process as much as possible.

Will I receive interest on my claim from HMRC?

HMRC do not pay interest on these claims.

How much do you charge?

Our fee for each rebate will be set out in the letter of engagement and is set at 25% plus VAT of the amount recovered on your behalf.

Can I trust you?

HRTR is part of First Class Accounting Limited, an accounting practice regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. The following link shows our listing at the ICAEW.

Can I do it myself?

You can claim the relief yourself from HMRC, but they do not accept emails only letters and you will need to follow the procedure accurately to receive your rebate.

What if there is no refund due?

We are happy to review this at no cost and confirm the position to you.
